Job description
Do you want to, manage, motivate, and develop a team to deliver fantastic outcomes for our communities and for the environment in the North East? Could you help our teams create a net zero nation that is resilient to climate change whilst tackling the legacies of our industrial past?
We are looking to recruit a Team Leader to be part of our dynamic and energetic Water Land &Biodiversity leadership team. It is an exciting opportunity to be part of creating a greener, more resilient, and sustainable future for everyone in the North East.
We would like you to have a flexible approach, be able to, guide and motivate our staff to deliver our business and our inclusive people priorities. You will promote our ambitions around equality, diversity and inclusion ensuring that everyone works towards creating a life-enhancing place to work.
In the Environment Agency we have both technical and operational teams. All these teams play a key part in improving the environment for the future.
We are currently creating more leadership capacity for our dynamic, passionate, and growing Groundwater, Hydrology and Contaminated Ground Team, which also includes the Water and Abandoned Mines Programme. The successful candidate will lead a portion of this team.
All of our teams work collaboratively to improve and/or regulate the environment.
You will be based at either our Newcastle or Darlington office, however we do work flexibly and when appropriate, you will be able to work from home.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
