Job description
- Team Management: Lead and inspire a team of designers, fostering collaborative creative work environment. Provide guidance, mentorship, and regular feedback to help team members achieve their full potential.
- Design Strategy: Develop and implement design strategies that support our marketing and branding objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into impactful digital solutions.
- Management: Plan, prioritize, and delegate design projects effectively, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high-quality standards. Track project progress and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Conceptualization and Design: Take the lead in conceptualizing and designing various marketing materials, including digital assets (website graphics, display ads, social media visuals, etc.), print materials (type specimens, event signage, brochures, employee materials etc.), photography, videos and more.
- Brand Identity: Uphold and reinforce the brand's visual identity across all materials, ensuring consistency in messaging and aesthetics.
- Market and Design Trends: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, design techniques, and emerging technologies. Integrate innovative design approaches to keep the team's work fresh and cutting-edge.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams, such as marketing, sales, product development, content creators and web developers to understand their requirements and incorporate design elements that enhance their efforts.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular design reviews to ensure that all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and creativity.
- Budget Management: Monitor and allocate design-related budgets efficiently, making strategic decisions to optimize resources
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field. A relevant masers degree will be an added advantage.
- Proven experience (8 years) as a design team lead, with a focus on brand, demand generation, and digital marketing.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or other relevant design software.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects, including brand identity, digital marketing assets, and demand generation collateral.
- Solid understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout.
- Experience with designing for various digital channels, including social media, websites, email campaigns, and online advertising.
- Ability to think creatively and translate complex ideas into visually appealing designs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web design principles is a plus.
