Our Client a leading Fund manager are lookinf for a new Team Assistant to join their business.

The Role & Background

As one might expect with a small company, the role is broad, providing full administrative support to a team of Portfolio Managers and, from time to time, covering for the wider team as required. The role will be very varied, incorporating diary management, meeting arrangements, research, collation and distribution of information,

It is essential that the Team Assistant has meticulous attention to detail, can work at speed while maintaining accuracy, and takes pride in producing the highest quality work possible in order to stand up to the scrutiny of the Portfolio Managers. The role will be demanding and sometimes pressured, and it is important that the Team Assistant maintains composure, focus, and remains committed to ensuring the highest quality of work.

This job suits an independent minded, bright, self-starter who is constantly thinking about how to improve both themselves and the business.

What may a day look like?

  • Working closely and collaboratively with a small team of Assistants. Providing cover for one another and sharing workloads in times of high pressure
  • Arranging meetings / diary management
  • Booking travel
  • Collating research packs from various data sources.
  • Downloading files and saving accurately
  • Liaising with external organisations e.g. clients, listed companies and brokers
  • Scanning and filing notes
  • Maintaining the CRM database to accurately store records of meetings, notes and events
  • Keeping an efficient electronic filing system where resources can be easily located
  • Circulating News, Broker Notes and Portfolio updates to the team of Investment Professionals
  • Processing expenses

Requirements

  • A strong academic record
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a professional environment in an administrative role
  • Open, honest, and intellectually curious /bright
  • Resilient and able to be withstand sometimes direct / abrupt communication
  • A desire and ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Organised with good attention to detail
  • Able to work with minimum supervision, using own initiative to prioritise tasks
  • Proactive, flexible and friendly with a sense of humour and perspective
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Salary: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
