Teaching Fellow in Initial Teacher Education (Primary)
The School of Education and Sociology is seeking to recruit a Teaching Fellow to join our Initial Teacher Education Team. We are looking for a talented individual with a strong commitment to high quality teaching and a proven track record of expertise in Primary teaching to join our friendly school.
This new role will join our established and growing Primary Initial Teacher Education team. They will contribute to, and promote, the teaching, learning and assessment activity of our undergraduate and postgraduate Primary teacher training routes as well as having the opportunity to contribute to our school’s wider curriculum offer.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be student-centred, have good knowledge and understanding of pedagogical approaches in Primary education coupled with recent and relevant teaching experience. The ideal candidate will have experience of leading a curriculum area across a whole school setting; and be able to bring specialist knowledge and understanding of Primary teaching and learning in PSHE, PE, History, Geography or Art
Part of the role will require travel to schools to carry out observations of teaching by trainees, as well as to develop and maintain good relationships with our partnership schools and facilitate training for mentors.
