A fantastic opportunity to join a growing education team in a small and friendly local secondary school. The school is looking to invest in its very growing staff cohort. Due to this they are looking for a proactive teaching assistant to fit into their team. The ideal candidate would be an individual looking to progress in their career. This role is for a full time position, however they will discuss part time for the right candidate.
Overview:
● Title: Teaching Assistant
● Pay: £69.20 per day minimum
● Location: Tredegar
● Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm full time
● Start date: After February half term

The role: What you’ll be doing as a Teaching Assistant
● Supporting and supervising educational games, sports and craft activities ● Helping children with their reading
● Preparing the classroom for a lesson
● Working with pupils in small groups/ and or working 1:1 with children with additional needs
● Support the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons
● Assist pupils at break time with their lunch
● Engage pupils in the classroom and out of classroom activities ● Work in accordance to the schools behaviour management policies
The candidate: What you’ll need to be successful as a Teaching Assistant
● At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings - experience within an SEN setting would be beneficial ● Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
● References covering the last two years (no gaps)
● Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
● The right to work in the UK
