Summary
Thank you for your interest in this Teaching Assistant and Sports Coach position. The Governing Body are keen to appoint an enthusiastic and committed member of staff to our existing hard working team in school. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working successfully with children of all abilities to help them achieve all they can and prepare them for the future.

This role will involve working in class alongside our excellent teaching team to close gaps between groups of pupils and individuals and also to be responsible for raising the profile of sport and healthy lifestyles across school and enhancing our extra-curricular provision.

The post will consist of:

  • 15.5 hours Sports coaching across FS, KS1 and KS2 – Grade 5
  • 10 hours as a Teaching Assistant across KS1 and KS2 – Grade 5
  • 5 hours lunchtime Welfare – Grade 1 (FLW)

    This is a part time temporary position until August 2025, and which is subject to budgetary review beyond this date.

  • Has high expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour
  • Is experienced in working across different key stages within school
  • Has the ability to inspire and motivate children
  • To assist in the planning and teaching of PE lessons through leading activities and supporting non specialist teachers to deliver the curriculum effectively.
  • Is enthusiastic about developing and promoting sports provision and healthy lifestyles for all children.
  • Establish out of school sporting activities including, where possible, the opportunity to participate in competitions and monitor the participation in out of hours PE and sport to continue and improve competitive sport provision.
  • Can work as part of our excellent and dedicated team
  • Is committed to promoting the Christian ethos and life of the school

Essential Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 or above qualification – appropriate to the post (or equivalent
  • GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics
  • Level 2 or above coaching qualifications for sport

Desirable Qualifications
  • First Aid

  • Sports leadership and coaching

Essential Experience
  • Experience of working with children
  • Coaching sport with children/adults
Desirable Experience
  • Experience of working in schools across all three key stages – FS, KS1 and KS2
  • Experience of leading sporting activities in school
  • Experience of administrative work
