Job description
The Department of Chemistry is looking for a hardworking individual to join a team of technicians. Working as part of the technical support in the Department of Chemistry, report directly to the Technical Manager and providing support in all areas of the department.
Your key skills will be in Chemistry, Physics, Electronics and ICT. As a professional, enthusiastic and collaborative member of the department’s technical team, you will provide high-quality support across the department’s research laboratories.
You will have a good understanding of laboratory operations and facilities and will engage in the continual improvement of technical support and set-up, aiming to provide the highest quality student experience.
You should have A Level Chemistry (or equivalent) or relevant work experience. You should also have 5 GCSEs (A* - C grade) including Maths, English and a Science. Additionally you should have experience of working within a technical support environment. Knowledge of safe working practices, Good Laboratory Practice and experience of applying Health and Safety in a laboratory/workshop environment are also required.
