College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences / School of History, Classics and Archaeology

Full-time: 35 hours per week

Fixed-term post for 12 months- 1 st September REPLACEMENT_STRING31 st August 2024

We are looking for a Teaching and Research Fellow in Ancient History .

The Opportunity:

The School of History, Classics and Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh is pleased to invite applications for a one-year Teaching and Research Fellowship in Ancient History, within the Department of Classics. The candidate will be required to teach Ancient History at all levels, to both undergraduate and graduate students. This is an open post without a chronological or regional focus.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • A PhD in Ancient History, Classics or an equivalent field.
  • Ability to teach Ancient History at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly, orally and in writing.
  • Portfolio of excellent research, including in the form of recent or forthcoming publications in the field, commensurate with career stage.
  • Teaching experience at undergraduate level in Ancient History.
