Job description
The Godolphin and Latymer School is one of the country’s leading independent day schools for girls, located on a six acre site in Hammersmith, London. The School’s facilities are excellent, making it an exciting place to learn and work. The students at Godolphin and Latymer receive unrivalled academic and pastoral support and outstanding examination results are achieved.
Mathematics is a popular subject at the school and in Sixth Form. For the IB, all students study one of three courses at either Standard or Higher Level and for A Level a high proportion of students study Mathematics and Further Mathematics.
A well-qualified and inspirational teacher is required to join an innovative and highly successful department of thirteen Mathematicians from 1 September 2023.
The successful candidate will be required to teach across the school, up to A Level/IB Mathematics. They will need to work well as a member of a team and have a willing approach to sharing and developing their teaching practice. The ability to teach Further Mathematics / IB Higher Level is preferred.
All members of the department are required to contribute to the Mathematics enrichment programme, which includes problem solving clubs, and individual and team competitions. Staff are also expected to contribute to the wider extra-curricular programme on offer at the School.
The salary will be commensurate with the post and will depend upon qualifications and experience.
Accommodation may be available for new staff in a local six-unit property.
Fully completed application forms should be returned to [email protected] as soon as possible. Please note that applications must be made on the school’s application form. CVs alone will not be accepted.
There is no closing date for this vacancy.
Applications will be considered on receipt and interviews may occur at any stage.
All staff working in the School during the school day will have contact with children and will therefore be in regulated activity. As a teaching member of staff you will be working directly with, and be responsible for, the children that you teach. You are also likely to have contact with other pupils on a regular basis which may include specific pastoral or other responsibilities for pupils whom you do not teach.
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
