Full Time Croydon, England 32000 - 45000 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of English to join an innovative and energetic department. The post is suitable for both experienced teachers and those new to the profession, who would participate in our highly regarded Schools Direct programme. The successful candidate will sustain the high levels set for public exam results and foster the lively life of the subject outside the classroom.
The Department is well-resourced and strives to stimulate a love of literature and writing through creative teaching, competitions, clubs and societies and visiting speakers. Among many other events, there are annual residential trips to Chiddingstone Castle Literary Festival with junior boys and to the Lake District with senior students to study the Romantics. You will have the freedom to select your own age-related teaching texts and develop your own schemes of work within the set syllabus.
Applicants should be able to teach across the age range up to GCSE and A Level. IB teaching could be available for the right candidate. A proactive culture of supporting and developing talented and inspiring teachers is supported by the Senior Management Team.
Staff will be encouraged to contribute fully to the co-curricular life of the School and this is reflected in the salary offered. We welcome applications from all parts of our community as we aspire to attract staff that matches the social and cultural diversity of our student intake.
