Come and work with great colleagues doing exciting things in West London’s best kept secret. Due to our rapid improvement and our growing numbers of students on role, we are now looking for a Teacher of Computing to accommodate our large increase in student applications who want to move to our great school.
As a result of our obsessive focus on curriculum and our sensible model of teacher development we have seen our progress 8 score transform. Maths is extremely popular in the Academy and is now our most popular A level subject with 50% of our 6th form students study STEM – 47% of our 6th form students studying STEM are female and 22% of female students who leave us in Y13 go on to study STEM at University. We are looking for a Teacher of Computing to join our successful Maths department to deliver high quality Computing lessons Units of work will be a mix of theoretical knowledge – to ensure students comprehend the key requirements of the curriculum – as well as practical sessions (coding via Scratch, animations, etc.) that will allow students to demonstrate their learning.
We are a diverse and vibrant academy, having every language on the DfE census represented in the Academy and we are proud to be a true comprehensive school and we maintain this comprehensive intake right through into our 6th form.
We place the curriculum – what we teach – at the heart of the academy and it informs all decisions we make. We are looking for someone who shares our belief in disciplinary thinking and who will help improve and refine our curriculum thinking.
In the words of Alex Standish, we believe that “school subjects then are a way of inducting children into the intellectual habits of humankind, and hence into a disciplinary conversation about knowing our world” and we are looking for someone who shares this belief to join our team.
