Art at Edgar Wood is a creative outlet. Students learn about a diverse range of artistic styles and artistic influences via a varied exploration of differing Artists. Students develop skills in a range of art medium and learn how each medium should be handled according to a project brief. Students learn to be creative and critical thinkers as they develop skills in opinion and appraisal. Students experience a range of different cultural contexts and learn to appreciate a wider understanding of how art surrounds us.
We are also determined as a faculty to be at the forefront of extra-curricular or enrichment activities, offering students trips and visits, as well as alternative learning and engagement opportunities here at School.
This is an exciting time to join Edgar Wood Academy as we are an expanding School with an intake of 300 students (180 in Year 7 & 120 in Year 8).
