The Catch22 Multi Academies Trust is the vehicle for our sponsorship of an expanding number of academies focusing on learners who can benefit from small, supportive alternative education provision.
The Brunel Academy is an alternative education provision for learners aged 11 to 16-years-old, whose needs cannot be met within a mainstream environment. The Academy provides placements for young people in the Torbay area who exhibit social, emotional and behavioural concerns.
We believe that all learners have the ability to succeed and make the most of the next stages of their lives. We promote key life skills so that they have the confidence and tools to reach their full potential as learners and citizens.
We are looking for a passionate teacher to engage students in Maths. You will be a highly effective teacher and tutor who supports and challenges all students to achieve their full potential whilst being able to assist students to express their emotions in a therapeutic and positive manner.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Planning, resourcing and delivering high-quality lessons to meet each individual’s needs across the full age range of the school.
- Regularly assessing learning to review and deepen knowledge, skills and understanding.
- Monitoring and recording the progress of students and ensuring that feedback given to them enables them to progress and succeed.
- Maintaining a thorough and up to date knowledge of the teaching subject(s) and taking into account relevant curriculum developments.
- Ensuring that as a result of your teaching, students make good progress and achieve well relative to their prior attainment.
- Facilitating appropriate national accreditation for all eligible students on a stage appropriate basis, aiming for all students to achieve their potential.

QTS Teacher
You will be an enthusiastic, adaptable teacher who wants to support our students and be part of our Academy’s future development and improvement. The role will be both challenging and highly rewarding.
The successful candidate will need to be:
- Able to inspire, support and challenge students in equal measure.
- An effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Resilient and keen to embrace working in an Academy that supports students with challenging behaviour.
- An excellent team player who enjoys working collaboratively to provide maximum support and excellent learning opportunities for all students.
- An outstanding classroom practitioner prepared to teach a range of subjects, who is passionate about encouraging all to progress.

Salary / Scale: MPR (£25,714 - £36,597) + SEN allowance (£2,268)

Governed by the National Agreement on Pay and Conditions of service, supplemented by local conditions as agreed by Governors.
