Franklin Public Schools runs an alternative education program at Milwaukee County’s Community Reintegration Center, a local jail. Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, tailored environment where students engage in learning to develop the skills and habits needed to be successful in school and in life. Teachers work with students to develop individualized learning plans to meet the academic, social, emotional, and life goals of students. Learning is available to students aged 16 through 21. The program follows the Franklin Public Schools district calendar.This position is for a full time teacher located at our Franklin School within the grounds of the jail. This instructor will collaborate with and run the program with one additional instructor, program support staff, and district staff including admin to ensure a high level of learner engagement of and academic rigor for students to support their success. This position also involves good communication and collaboration with correctional staff.Candidates without current alternative education and cross categorical licenses will be considered. If hired, candidates must commit to completing these licenses. Finalists for this position must complete Milwaukee County’s background check process to work on site and completion of Franklin Public Schools hiring process will be contingent upon approval to work at the Community Reintegration Center.Job Qualifications: -Valid teaching license for secondary-aged students. -Alternative Education and cross categorical license preferred.A successful candidate will possess the following skills and experiences:- Demonstrate a belief that all students can learn and find success.- Demonstrate expertise using diverse instructional methods.- Demonstrate an understanding of personalized learning.- Possess the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in a diverse array of roles.- Possess highly effective communication and organization skills.- Use student data to make instructional decisions.- Build a positive classroom learning environment
