KPMG is looking to recruit a manager in their in-house Tax team. This is a new role in the team that delivers KPMG’s corporate and partnership tax filings and advising on UK tax compliance matters.
The individual will be required to demonstrate exceptional tax compliance skills, the ability to work to tight deadlines and handle large volumes of data as well as oversee the work of other team members. The work is by nature high profile and the ability to treat matters with the utmost confidentiality will be key. The work will involve working closely with other tax professionals to deliver an efficient tax compliance service.
Key responsibilities
- The key responsibility of the role is the preparation of corporate tax and partnership computations and tax returns for submission to HM Revenue & Customs. This will involve:
- Review of the tax computation for KPMG LLP using excel and the tax return using Digita software.
- Review of tax computation for group corporates using Alphatax.
- Preparation of technical notes to accompany the review of the tax computation.
- Assistance with HM Revenue & Customs enquiries.
- Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation, providing responses to consultations and developing processes to deal with changes including Country by country reporting, Transfer pricing regulations, Making tax digital
- Ability to research technical issues and discuss with relevant specialists.
- Dealing with changing business model and business requirements and the tax impact of these
- Managing and providing training and support for the team, reviewing and monitoring of their work to ensure it is completed on a timely basis
- Performance management and input into setting goals of the team
Skills and qualifications required
- Qualified CTA or ACA
- Extensive direct tax technical experience dealing with corporate and partnership tax matters.
- Excellent team working skills, including delegation, managing teams and developing junior staff
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills are required
- The role location is flexible with occasional visits to the Watford office required.
