The team
Based in Manchester, our Business Service Centre supports our Studios and Broadcast divisions in making great programmes, maximising revenues and works in partnership with our Group Finance teams. It’s split into six teams who all work closely together: Talent Payments, Royalty Payments, Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash, Payroll, Record to Report and Change.
The role
We are looking for a Talent Payments Business Support Assistant to join our team on a permanent basis in Manchester.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting Talent Payments processes in line with Talent Payments policies and procedures.
Support Talent Payments for all primary and secondary/residual payments by:
- Performing updates in TalentPay for legal letters and Artist/Agent name changes.
- Maintain bank details in TalentPay.
- Resolution of BACS rejection errors.
- Resolution of queries and issues relating to Talent Payments as first point of contact.
- Operating as an advisor to the business on the above matters.
- Working with Business Affairs to obtain guidance on legal matters as required.
- Update and complete personal and departmental KPI’s.
- Work with the Team Leader to identify and act upon self-development and learning opportunities.
- Perform SBA and VAT validation and re calculations.
- Any other reasonable duties in support of departmental requirements.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- Experience of using finance software, ideally Oracle (or other integrated ERP software) is required.
- Experience of a high volume payment function; a good knowledge of payment best-practice and associated controls and procedures.
- Good knowledge of VAT accounting principles, HMRC regulations and good working knowledge of Talent union agreements.
- Experience of working in a customer facing or processing environment essential.

- Good level of numerical analytical ability and the ability to work to a very high level of accuracy is essential.
- Good communication skills and the ability to engage and build relationships with people of differing levels of seniority.
- Highly customer focused; excellent customer service skills.
- Effective organisation and planning skills are essential.
- High standard of integrity; able to treat personal information and data confidentiality.
- IT literate with experience using Excel, Word and email (preferably Google Mail).
- Experience of TalentPay is desirable, but not essential.
