Department Overview


This role sits within the Experienced Hires Talent Acquisition team, in the Talent Acquisition & Development (TAD) function of the People Directorate, alongside Future Talent, Learning & Organisational Development and Talent. The teams collaborate and work closely to ensure that our activity is aligned throughout the function as part of our overall Talent strategy.


Job Description


This is a key role in the Experienced Hires Talent Acquisition Team. Our mission is to provide a great candidate experience for all our candidates (both internally and externally). With this in mind, our Talent Acquisition team is completely dedicated to resourcing great talent into the Bank and working closely with our colleagues in the Future Talent Team. This role will not only own a portfolio of key stakeholders to partner and manage the full resourcing strategy and the day to day operational recruitment for the area/s, but will also be supporting our Senior Leadership Lead Talent Acquisition Partner across all areas of the Bank, attracting and appointing into our leadership roles.


This person will use their significant talent acquisition expertise to support and guide our attraction and selection activity to ensure we secure all the talented people we need, in the most inclusive ways possible. This is at the heart of everything we do in Talent Acquisition and we are proud to form an integral part of the wider Talent strategy for the whole Bank.


You will also get the chance to be involved or lead multiple project work, and either be or become a real authority on inclusive recruitment from candidate attraction and selection by guiding and innovating processes for the future.


Please note that this role is a part time (up to 0.8 FTE) opportunity.


Role Requirements


  • Take the lead as the talent acquisition subject matter expert for a number of business areas
  • Taking a central role in our senior leadership recruitment strategy for recruitment and working with senior leaders across the business as a support to the Lead recruiter
  • Partner with senior management to agree the short and long term talent acquisition strategies for their designated business areas, frequently at Head of Division, Director and Executive Director level
  • Work on a number of critical projects which could include projects such as: psychometric testing design, Applicant Tracking System review and the implementation and other related projects as and when required
  • Understand your areas business in detail and associated resourcing needs, using data/MI and market information to provide insights into supply, demand, quality and diversity (diversity, equity and inclusion are a key focus for the Bank)
  • Partner with hiring managers to agree the resourcing/recruitment strategy for specific campaigns
  • Identify the most appropriate sourcing channels to attract the best and most diverse talent for the role
  • Design inclusive assessment and selection processes to meet diversity and inclusion aims and eliminate bias
  • Support the continuous improvement of talent acquisition processes, including the elimination of non-value add activities, maximising the use of technology where possible
  • Take the lead on talent acquisition projects and training where required
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the People Directorate and the Business Services teams (full end to end recruitment process from raising a vacancy through to onboarding), sharing insights from the business and your expertise to add value to the approach and candidate experience
  • Represent the Talent Acquisition Team and wider People Directorate at various internal and external forums and committees
  • Manage relationships with external suppliers such as provider, agencies and key partners

Minimum (Essential) Criteria


  • Strong internal and external end to end recruitment/talent acquisition and partnering experience, gained within an in-house or RPO onsite environment
  • Experience of recruiting up to Director level hires in a fast paced environment
  • Previous experience of working with recruitment portals and databases is essential
  • Experience of managing large campaigns for multiple positions and building candidate pipelines
  • Previous experience of championing diversity and inclusion within your organisation
  • Experience of designing innovative selection processes, must be Ability & Personality (previously Level A & B) qualified
  • Strong analytical/data skills, with the ability to provide post project analysis on recruitment campaigns

You will also need to have:


  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate, challenge and influence at all levels both verbally and in writing
  • Passion for providing excellent service and recruiting talented individuals
  • Sound organisational skills with the ability to juggle a busy and changing workload effectively
  • Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft office

Desirable Criteria


  • Exposure to vendor relationship management of recruitment agencies and other recruitment suppliers
  • Delivery of an Applicant Tracking System
  • Up to date knowledge of UK employment law and factors effecting Recruitment in the UK

This specific role offers a base salary range of circa £45,900 - £50,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience) on a full-time basis.


In addition we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below. We encourage flexible working & part time working , therefore both salary and associated benefits will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis for part-time colleagues


  • A non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/95th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/50th) or decrease (to 1/120th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year.
  • A discretionary performance award based on a current award pool.
  • A 7% benefits allowance with the option to take as salary or purchase a wide range of flexible benefits. (Note that from April 2023 and for the Benefits year 2023/24, this will increase to 8%)
• 26 days annual leave with option to buy up to 12 additional days through flexible benefits. (Note that this is effective from April 2023)
• Private medical insurance and income protection.
