Ede & Ravenscroft is London’s oldest tailors and received its first royal commission in 1689 when it was entrusted to create the robes for the coronation of William and Mary.
We remain committed to delivering the traditional values which have built our reputation, crafting fine quality clothes, robes and tailoring for all occasions.
We are currently recruiting a high calibre full-time [36.25 hrs. per week] Tailor based at our London workrooms.
Main duties will include:
- Working within the London workrooms to produce classic British tailoring using the finest cloths, including civilian, judicial and ceremonial items
- You will be expected to make each garment to the required standard in a timely manner under the direction of the Head of Tailoring
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Tailoring experience with excellent sewing skill (minimum 5-7 years)
- In depth knowledge of a wide range of materials
- An interest in textiles, designs and trends
- Knowledge of appropriate dress for formal and ceremonial occasions
- Ability to produce high quality garments accurately with attention to detail
- Ability to work to exacting standards
- Creativity and the ability to visualise designs
- Organisation skills with the ability prioritise
