About us
You will be joining the airborne special mission solutions team, designing, and producing world class, bespoke special mission aircraft conversions for law enforcement, public safety, search and rescue, air ambulance and C4ISR applications for government and industry aircraft operators. Our multi-disciplinary team of design engineers, operators and aircraft engineers provide turn-key solutions from conceptualisation through to production, aircraft modification and operationalisation.
About the opportunity
As a Nova Systems International, Aerospace Integration & Test Discipline Team Lead operating in the design organisation, you are responsible for leading your team in performing designs and certification activities for projects assigned to your team. You provide technical leadership and line management leadership to your team members and are accountable for your team’s outputs. You are also responsible for checking and compliance verification of design outputs in accordance with your delegated authorisation in the design organisation. You are required to comply with the requirements of your employment contract and the Nova Group Business Management System, Policies and Procedures and the GVH Aerospace Design Handbook. Above all you are required to behave ethically and always in the best interests of Nova Systems International.
What will I be involved in:
- Provide technical leadership to your team in the development of designs and/or design artefacts in accordance to EASA Design handbook in line with the scope.
- Liaison with the Head of Design and Program Manager of the assigned project for delivery of design, certification, manufacture and installation elements of the project in line with your allocated task.
- Manager the compliance to the customer specification, functional requirements, appropriate certification requirements, established design rules, and producibility requirements.
- Work with the Head of Design and Program Manager in the assignment of team members to the projects and tasks according to the team members’ competence, project requirements and team workload.
- Assist with the definition and development of competency or training framework and quality improvement initiates that will strengthen the competencies of your team in delivering quality designs.
- Complying with all Nova WHS policies and Safety Management System and procedures and ensuring you do not place the health and safety of yourself or any other person at risk.
What are we looking for:
- Degree educated within a relevant engineering field.
- Extensive experience within the aerospace industry, specifically working in EASA, FAA or UK CAA design organisations.
- Sound knowledge of civil regulatory requirements related to design (e.g. Part 21, CS-25, CS-27, CS-29)
- Proven experience of leading a high performing team and delivering results.
- Self-starter with a drive and intellectual curiosity to continuously improve and develop professionally
- UK driver’s license
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
