The role
As an IT Systems Engineer in our IT team you’ll be focused on supporting our suite of core IT tools. In this role you will be primarily responsible for the security of our infrastructure and tooling.
Main responsibilities:
- Collaborating with the security team to deliver the Security strategy and initiatives across the IT infrastructure
- Identifying opportunities to mature and improve our security posture and then building lasting solutions that improve our security posture and keep us and our customers safe.
- Ensuring that all devices are running a secure OS that is maintained through a stringent patching schedule
- Working to minimise the number of vulnerabilities across all our core IT infrastructure
- Ensuring that we maintain healthy endpoints in respect of security tooling and device management.
- Acting on requests and guidance from our Cyber Security team - and ensuring the required security controls are enforced across all our core systems
- Perform deep dives into both systemic and network issues
- Documenting everything we de to a high standard to ensure knowledge sharing across the Engineering team and wider IT community
Additionally you’ll be responsible for day to day management and improvements to the tools that our teams use to communicate and stay productive, including Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, JAMF and a number of other modern collaboration tools, management and security tools.

The ideal candidate will have an existing strong background in maintaining high levels of security on infrastructure systems, a high level view of the current status of systems and a deep understanding of how they connect with each other under the hood. You are comfortable in looking at data to develop, plan and execute large scale (company-wide) projects to automate, streamline and generally improve how customers interact with our Enterprise IT Systems.
Additional responsibilities:
- Ensuring we maintain a high level of security & compliance across all our core IT systems and end user computers.
- You’ll lead and participate in Security related IT projects, ensuring that projects are designed and planned well, focusing on delivering a solution or technical improvement - driving automation throughout processes
- You’ll be an escalation point for our IT Support team for our collaboration, productivity, management and security tools
- Provide hands-on and remote root cause analysis of IT issues, in a security context
- Develop scripts, tools, processes or solutions to proactively prevent problems, improve user productivity and automate recurring tasks

Requirements

- Expert level knowledge of macOS, Google Workspace Administration and Google Cloud Identity, including user management, devices, applications.
- Expert level experience supporting cloud based and SaaS applications and SSO (Okta), including Slack, Atlassian products
- In-depth knowledge of various IT systems including email, document storage, identity, device management.
- Working knowledge or CASB, Enterprise Device Management and Endpoint Detection & Response tooling.
- Knowledge of best practices around engineering, data security and identity
- Coding/scripting experience in one or more general purpose languages
- Knowledge of the Google Workspace Developer tools including Apps Script and Google Workspace APIs
- You care deeply about outstanding user experience
- You enjoy solving hard and complex problems
- You like to build automation to reduce toil, based on data
- You’re a team player and enjoy working towards a common mission
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
