POSITION OVERVIEW:

Mission Communications introduced the first cellular managed SCADA solution to the water and wastewater industries nearly two decades ago. The company currently serves more than 2,800 utilities across the U.S. and Canada and is known as an established monitoring technology innovator. Mission Communications offers highly reliable solutions that are designed for pump stations, lift stations, manholes, tank and well control, as well as lake and river level monitoring. Standardized field hardware, national cellular data networks, centralized servers, advanced alarming functions, and web-based SCADA software are combined into a single, low-cost solution with a predictable cost of ownership.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • General hardware support - PC, servers, printers, phones, UPS
  • Serve as contact point for IT technical issues
  • Deploy, configure and upgrade PC Desktop & Laptops with Microsoft and engineering application software using automated methods where possible
  • Procure IT equipment and supplies - computers, printers, peripherals, toner, phones, and cellphones.
  • Manage, order, track - all IT licensing for compliance - Microsoft, Adobe, Solidworks, AutoCAD, etc.
  • Maintain equipment contract tracking and renewals
  • Conduct User Training - Office, Outlook, Remote VPN
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT technical issues - including but not limited to - PC's, printers, cellphones, phone system, Windows servers, standard application software, network connectivity
  • Lead various IT related projects for the business departments in multiple disciplines
  • Ensures data integrity by evaluating, proposing, implementing and managing software and hardware solutions.
  • Support highly skilled engineers working with advanced programming languages and algorithms
  • Design server file share and application security across the enterprise
  • Performs system software upgrades on PC's and servers
  • User Provisioning administration, including but not limited to; Windows account, Active Directory, Security Groups, Folder Access
  • Email - user, distribution groups, security groups
  • Cellphones
  • Web/audio conferencing
  • Ability to backup and restore servers
  • Disaster Recovery Planning
  • Assist remote users with connectivity issues
  • Maintain IT documentation

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CompTI A+ Essentials certification
  • Microsoft MTA IT Infrastructure certification minimum - MCSE preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or 5 years minimum experience
  • Dell Hardware experience preferred
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, independent working habits
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Passionate about technology and follows current trends.
  • The desire to continually train and upgrade skills related to current and future technologies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Server configuration, application and upgrade support
  • Scripting languages - powershell
  • Basic programming skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL
  • Networking skills - WAN/LAN, VLAN, Wireless, firewall, routing, switching technologies
  • Good customer services skills.
  • Must be able to work well within a team environment and adapt quickly to change
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment where multiple projects are being developed and deployed simultaneously
  • Some after-hours support will be required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally across multiple internal teams, external vendors, coordinate and prioritize tasks in a fast paced diverse environment.
