THE ROLE
The Systems Engineer role plays a pivotal part in the future growth and success of Black Kite. You will be working with the founders, creatives and production team to support the technology needs of the studio.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Maintaining the Firewall and ensuring policies follow the principle of least privilege (Fortinet)
- Maintaining all network associated to the Core Services and Switches (Mellanox/fs.com)
- Maintain Storage File Systems (Tigerstore/NFS)
- Build VMs as required (VMware)
- Deploying additional segregated networks as required, including Storage, Render and Workstations
- Maintain and test standard artist workstation/render builds (PXE, kickstart, ansible)
- Set up and deploy resources in public clouds as and when required (Sherpa, AWS, Google, Azure)
- Maintain an Environment Monitoring System enabling pre-emptive correction of issues such as power outs or temperature changes
- Document all changes and procedures in the Black Kite Git Lab
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who is keen and interested in new technology and that can communicate new ideas to the team and take on pipeline projects to improve workflow throughout Black Kite.
- A good working knowledge of Windows, Linux and Mac OS
- Attention to detail and a "neat freak" around cabling
- Strong, proven problem solving skills in network, storage, linux and windows.
- Familiarity with artist software (Maya, Nuke, Flame, Baselight) desirable.
