The Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Systems and Architectures Group performs analysis to develop future concepts and architectures for executing the most challenging missions of the Department of Defense (DoD). Studies within the group cover a broad range of technical areas including advanced sensor systems, new platforms, communications, navigation solutions, and data exploitation approaches. The group works directly with DoD senior leadership to understand their needs and briefs leadership regularly to inform future technology investments. Concepts developed within the group can lead to data collections, engineering design studies, technology development, and prototyping projects within MIT Lincoln Laboratory.


Position Description


The Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Systems and Architectures Group is seeking a Systems Analyst at the Assistant Staff level to perform modeling and performance assessment of ISR and tactical systems.


The candidate will support systems analysis studies of DoD missions, planned DoD capabilities, and new technologies. This requires the development of physics and engineering-based models of these systems in various programming languages, with an emphasis on MATLAB. The successful candidate will have the ability to learn about a wide array of technologies related to sensors, aircraft, satellites, communication systems, navigation, and data exploitation. Activities involve physics-based modeling, software simulation, systems analysis, and data analysis, while working as a member of a small technical team.


Requirements


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Mathematics, Aeronautics/Astronautics, Engineering, or a related technical field. The principal skills required are the ability to quickly learn new technical areas and apply that knowledge effectively to model and predict system performance. The ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.


Desired Skills: A minimum GPA of 3.5 is desired. Strong communication skills are also desired.
