An exciting opportunity is available for a Trainee Windows Systems Administrator in our Computer Services Team based in Exeter or Plymouth.

Main ResponsibilitiesYou will be able to make a real difference working individually and collaboratively alongside experienced team members, fulfilling tasks ranging from system deployment and configuration, hardware management, server administration and support of systems that are a central part of the UK’s critical national infrastructure.

In an always learning environment you will collaborate with other teams and problem solve, design and implement new technologies, as well as providing exceptional levels of support to our colleagues. Following successful completion of your training you will be appointed to the salary range of £55,399 – £61,909
The Ideal CandidateYou will have an IT-related or equivalent degree, or have proven relevant experience in this field. Be highly self-motivated, with a desire or ability to implement and support IT systems and infrastructure. You will also be able to demonstrate that you have the necessary aptitude, motivation and skills to make a success of this opportunity.
As the post you are applying for attracts a National Security Vetting clearance there are further eligibility requirements, information can be found on the gov.uk website. To meet national security vetting requirements you will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 5 years for Security Clearance (SC) prior to the date of application. There are exceptions to this however and examples of these include:
- you have been serving overseas with HM Forces or in some other official capacity as a representative of HM Government
- you were studying abroad
- you were living overseas with parents
