The System Administrator will perform the functions of a GoAnywhere Managed File Transfer (MFT) Administrator, working within the Systems Support Team to develop new file transfer jobs to meet business needs, security requirements and operation standards. This will require knowledge of secure transfer protocols, LINUX file / folder permission and a comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
The position responsibility will include the preparation of system documentation and configuring file transfer solutions to deliver quality, cost effective and timely deliverables according to the department’s lifecycle development approach (SDLC).
- Clarifying requests for enhancements or systems changes with Application Development, Security Operations (SECOPS), System and Business Analysts.
- Analyzing user requirements, documents and requests to develop effective automated solutions.
- Maintaining production transfer solutions, system configurations, unit test plans, and other supporting technical documentation.
- Following coding and documentation standards through a review process.
- The System Administrator will provide direct support to, but is not limited to, Cloud, SAAS and Low-Code application platforms.
- This position will require on-call support for 24x7 Operations as part of a team. In addition to these major areas of responsibilities, the administrator will support other operational duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experienced in the following items: technical documentation; interpreting technical designs; constructing managed file transfers processes; analyzing requirements
Performing Analysis for File Movement:
- Ability to define system and file transfer requirements; ability to analyze existing firewall topologies and specify new firewall requirements; ability to establish measurable performance requirements; ability to develop high-level system and functional specifications; ability to develop models and prototypes for file transfer design; ability to validate design schemes and models; ability to develop detailed design specifications; ability to identify system platform, components and dependencies; ability to determine maintenance requirements; ability to incorporate security requirements into file transfers; ability to develop and document transfer process; ability to perform unit testing; ability to revise and adapt file transfer code to meet new technologies; ability to create and test prototypes as part of the development process
Test and Validate File Transfers:
- Ability to develop unit test plans for a file transfer; ability to interpret test results and make recommendations; ability to support user acceptance testing
Implement, Support, and Maintain File Transfers:
- Ability to develop release plans; ability to transition a file transfer to a new platform; ability to evaluate, implement and document file transfer enhancements
Computer Systems and Software:
- Ability to evaluate new and existing technologies for potential use by the organization
- Ability to help prevent security risks and threats including data integrity / protection at all stages
Understanding the Business:
- Knowledge of business / program policy sufficient to support program areas in the development of systems documentation
Results Focus:
- Skilled in technical design, testing and problem resolution while working with business partners.
Structured analysis modeling in support and enhance requirements:
- Ability to identify and validate requirements, organize information into coherent ideas, document requirements and communicate approach.
Customer Service:
- Ability to provide timely support of VDSS technologies to ITS and program teams.
Interpersonal Communication:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to managers, end users, peers and technical staff.
Leadership:
- Capable of leading or mentoring systems administrators and analysts in support of file transfers.
Personal Effectiveness:
- Skilled in leading work efforts, assigning tasks and balancing priorities of assigned workloads.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- Considerable experience in customer support, including problem definition and resolution for both network hardware and software.
- Considerable experience with Windows/Unix scripting and File Transfer Protocols (FTP).
- Considerable experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools.
- Demonstrated experience creating accurate documentation for design and planning systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of network troubleshooting to include proxy servers and firewalls.
- Knowledge of the Full Life Cycle Development of Information Technology Services.
- Experience with design, development, and testing of large automated solutions, specifically in the Health and Human Services field.
- Knowledge of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation.
- Knowledge of Cloud-based and Low-Code platform offerings such as: File Transfers (for Salesforce), process automation for Microsoft Power Apps, AWS Management Console for Batch Jobs and FTP Processing (Fargate).
