Job description

To assist the community engagement team with admin tasks

To support the community engagement team engage with Syrian refugees

  • Assist with the printing of promotional materials for Community Engagement events.
  • Help the Community Engagement team support refugees to continue to feel engaged and involved in their communities by attending the events with a team member and working with the team & third sector organisations to understand the cultural competencies within the community as well as relating to the refugees that will help to maintain their self-esteem.
  • Support the team to create and facilitate opportunities for participation in community engaging activities by handing out posters and sign-posting refugees to events that are available within their community.
  • Assisting Syrian refugees with little or no English to engage with activities in a safe and enjoyable environment.
  • Contribute to identifying and making use of opportunities for sharing best practice and learning within the Syrian community.
  • Provide support to assist refugees at wellbeing events.
  • Help the team to keep information display areas and waiting areas stocked & tidy at community engagement events.
  • Meet people at community engagement events and provide a welcome
  • Supporting team to create and maintain effective relationships with the refugees & third sector organisations.
  • Joining in Team discussions and training as required
  • Greeting visitors to the Team
  • Support the team in organising and promoting activities.
  • Attending events with the team and undertaking tasks in a supportive capacity.
