Job description
The SVP Data & Insights is responsible for the development and execution of a group-wide data strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders across our banking, retail, and data monetization business units.
This executive-level position will report directly to the COO and will play a critical role in shaping the company's strategic vision, leveraging data to generate insights, and taking us through the next phase of our data capability evolution. The SVP of Data & Insights will anticipate future data needs for Reward and keep up to speed with industry trends and emerging technologies which can help us to advance. Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development and Execution
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data and insights strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives.
- Optimise the operating model between data teams to drive greater effectiveness, efficiency and maximise impact from our investment in data capabilities, enhancing customer experience.
- Drive the implementation of advanced analytics, data science, and data-driven decision-making across the business.
Data Governance and Management
- Establish and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance. Operating in a highly regulated industry, compliance is a constant focus across the business
- Oversee the management of data assets, including data acquisition, storage, quality, and accessibility
- Ensure the availability of accurate, timely, and reliable data and management information for all business units
Team Leadership and Talent Development
- Lead a team of c.20 insight analysts and data scientists working across multiple locations globally
- Provide direction – through a dotted line report - for data staff in the Technology Team including data architects, data engineers, data quality analysts and data operations staff
- Attract, retain, and develop top talent in the field of data and analytics
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Engage with key stakeholders across the business to understand their data needs and priorities
- Act as the company's data ambassador, promoting the value of data-driven decision-making and insights throughout the business
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
The successful candidate will have the following key skills and experiences:
- Proven track record of developing and implementing data and insights strategies
- At least 10 years of experience in leadership role within data and insights, managing teams including insight analysts, data scientists, data engineers and reporting analysts.
- Broad knowledge about the applications of data in all these contexts
- CRM in financial services (e.g. current accounts, credit cards)
- Advertising technology and marketing attribution
- Loyalty programmes
- Retail strategy and planning
- Deep expertise in at least 3 of these above 4 areas.
- Knowledge of data governance policies and procedures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with managing budgets and resources
- A degree in a related field, such as maths, data analytics, computer science, or economics

- Detail-oriented while also demonstrating the ability to synthesise a complex issue into a straightforward messaging
