About the role


Oxfordshire County Council is committed to working in partnership to deliver a greener, fairer and healthier county particularly using our influence to tackle the climate crisis. This new post will develop and lead the council’s ambition to work with our supply chain to ensure our purchase of goods and services aligns with our net zero and wider environmental ambitions and supports a more inclusive economy for Oxfordshire.


About you


You will be based in the Procurement and Contract Management Team and working closely with the Climate Action Team. This new post will lead the development of the council’s approach to reducing its supply chain emissions. Working with council officers and suppliers you will develop policies and tender specifications and advice that reduce the councils supply chain emissions and improve resilience.


The post will work with external partners, such as Oxfordshire Greentech and the inclusive economy partnership you will support the council’s ambitions to make more use of local supply chains that support the Oxfordshire economy. Working with the Carbon Analyst in the Climate Action Team you will support the move to greater monitoring and reporting of supply chain emissions. You will have a key role in communicating and championing best practice.
