Job description
Are you passionate about sustainability? Do you want to work for an organisation which prides itself on helping their clients understand how to make more sustainable product choices? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
Sustainability is at the heart of our business and creating a positive impact is fundamental to our reinvention journey - fuelling our innovation and growth, strengthening our business for the long term, and enabling us to develop and deliver the best solutions for our customers.
We are committed to developing and delivering an environmentally sustainable product portfolio, improving the sustainability of our own ethical sourcing, and partnering with our suppliers to reduce their environmental impact. We believe that our actions should address some of the greatest challenges we face as a society, including climate change, human rights and digital equity.
This is an opportunity to be part of that journey and to make a real positive and sustainable impact.
Initially, we are looking for 4 individual interns who want to further their knowledge of the environmental impact and how we play our part in making our industry more sustainable. As this role will be supporting an evolving business, we are looking for individuals who are interested in complex environmental projects and enjoy working with multiple stakeholders at all levels.
We will then be looking for additional interns to continue with the project for a full year encompassing further ESG elements as part of our biggest project.
The core emphasis of this role is to grade our environmentally sustainable product portfolio to enable us to share this information with the UK’s top companies. Duties will include:
- Working with dedicated suppliers to understand their ESG credentials
- Reviewing product data, audits and reports focussing on 10 key areas of sustainability
- Grading each of these 10 key areas per product
- Creating product descriptions including SEO on our website to ensure information is factual and reflective of sustainable elements
- Combining the data to give us a score per product and enter the approved sustainable products into the relevant ranges
- Rejecting products that are no longer meeting the criteria we require
- Tracking CO2 emissions with the help of suppliers to allow us to offset our carbon footprint
- Creating marketing content which can then be used to promote approved ranges on social media and us to our clients.
Interns will contribute to key projects which will ensure customers can and want to purchase sustainable products and services because they are safe, legally compliant, responsibly manufactured, and exceed customers’ sustainability expectations.
