The role

We are currently looking for a Sustainability Manager to be responsible for helping boohoo Group progress on its ongoing commitment to become a more sustainable and socially responsible company. As Sustainability Manager you will co-ordinate the delivery of the corporate sustainability program and make recommendations to senior leadership to execute strategies to enhance our approach to sustainability initiatives.

The role will require working collaboratively with the Sourcing, Technical, Environmental and Commercial Teams and the Supply Base. This role reports into the Head of Sustainability for the Boohoo Group as part of the Boohoo Group Sourcing and Product Operations Teams.

We are looking for someone with an understanding of current sustainability reporting requirements and you must have previous experience working within a sustainability position.

This role will be based at our London office, 4 days per week with 1 day working from home and occasional travel to the Manchester HQ.

What you'll be doing

  • To lead on the formulation of sustainability strategies and policies driving business change.
  • To lead the development and operation of environmental management systems including setting standards.
  • Working with the Technical teams in educating and supporting the commercial teams and the buyers to ensure that the Boohoo group have the appropriate accreditation and certification process in place.
  • Coordinating Boohoo group response and involvement in various industry stakeholder groups that promote sustainable materials.
  • Analysing and tracking Boohoo group sustainable materials usage.
  • Working with the Environmental team to ensure Boohoo Group product manufacturing process environmental impact is minimised and Boohoo group external targets and commitments are realised.
  • Delivering on local commercial and sourcing initiatives that add value to the overall Boohoo Group Sustainability Strategy.
  • Supporting the Sustainable Labelling Manager in ensuring all Boohoo packaging and labelling is sustainably sourced.
  • Working with the Commercial and PR teams to ensure all product sustainability initiatives are suitably marketed.
  • Be responsible for meeting our ‘zero waste to landfill in our UK supply chain by 2025’ target by working with suppliers and third parties to reduce our suppliers’ waste volumes and identify zero waste to landfill solutions

More about you

  • You must have at least 2 years experience working within a sustainability role
  • Have an understanding of current or upcoming sustainability reporting requirements
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills both internal and external
  • Ability to manage multiple project at one time
  • Ideally from a fashion/retail background but not essential
