Our 2023 Sustainability Graduate Programme includes the opportunity to join our Sustainability team based primarily from our Solihull Tarmac Hub Offices close to Birmingham Airport in the West Midlands, this is a hybrid working role working in office, at home and also across our sites. On days you are required to be based in office, this role is commutable from Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry, Bedworth, Kenilworth, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Lichfield, Cannock, Sutton Coldfield, Nuneaton, Tamworth, Hinkley, Redditch, Bromsgrove, Worcester, and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility
Our sustainability strategy is key to driving our business forward, ensuring we place people and the planet at the forefront of our agenda. A hugely exciting arena that is going from strength to strength as sustainability becomes an increasing priority!
As a key member of the sustainability team, you will have responsibility for measuring and reporting performance, supporting our customers and commercial teams with lifecycle and carbon information, and managing our response to external sustainability queries.
Duties will vary in this dynamic role vary but a typical day could include:
Supporting the internal and external communication of Tarmac’s sustainability strategy
Analysing and reporting environmental performance data for use internally and externally
Creating carbon footprints to help customers chose lower carbon products
Logging, coordinating technical inputs, and responding to queries in the Tarmac sustainability inbox
The sustainability team are based at our head office in Birmingham. You'll get opportunities to work from home, be in the office and to get out and explore Tarmac sites (full protective clothing and equipment is provided).
While learning in your day-to-day role, you will complete our Core Skills Graduate Development Programme. This programme is delivered through 8 modules over 2 years, designed to expand business knowledge, strengthen soft skills and offer networking opportunities to enable a successful transition to your destination role. You also have the chance to become a member of IEMA – Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment or another similar professional body

Qualifications
A Science/ Engineering/ Environment/ Sustainability related degree
Skills
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
Data management and analysis skills
Willing to learn and develop
Able to grasp technical information
Relationship focused and empathetic to stakeholder needs
Please note extensive knowledge of sustainability is not required!
