Supported Living Worker - CQC Accommodation Based Newcastle Upon Tyne - Female only service based in Walker. , Full time (37.5hpw). Working on a rota doing 08.00-20.00-day shifts or 09.00-22.00 sleep 07.00-09.15 sleep-in shifts. As our Care Support Worker, you’ll be at the heart of supporting our customers who have complex learning and physical disability needs to develop their skills to live more independently in the community, in our rated Good registered CQC service. You’ll make a big difference each day as you help our customers achieve their hopes and aspirations. Amazing we know! Typical day as our Supported Living Worker · Assisting customers with practical, daily living tasks to develop their independence, helping them to achieve the goals, aspirations and outcomes documented in their support plans. · Helping customers with daily living activities such as making meals, shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation if they are able. · Support to attend appointments, take part in hobbies and interests and maintain relationships that are dear to them · Supporting customers with their personal care and medication needs outlined in their support plan · Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews. · Cuppas, chats and catch ups. There’s no rushing from one customer to the next here! Plenty of time to work together with colleagues too. You have · A Level 2 Health and Social Care Certificate or are prepared to work towards it! · Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working together with an eye for detail · Experience of caring for others, you may have worked in care before or have experience of caring for others such as family members or children · Experience of working on own initiative, remaining calm under pressure and having a resilient approach · A flexible, personal approach, listening to customers to understand their needs, recognising every customer is different Our team You’ll join Nicole and our Andrew Court team, we’re super passionate about what we do! You will be supporting one female in her ground floor flat based in Walker, alongside another member of staff at all times. Our customer has a smile that can light up an entire room and although she is non-verbal, she can communicate her needs well using hand gestures and sounds. Our customer has a learning disability and cerebral palsy, so she uses a wheelchair, but this definitely doesn’t stop her! She loves pamper days, the Theatre, the Coast and so much more! Job details · Where we’re flexible with you, we do need to meet the needs of our customers. That may mean adapting your start or finishing times on occasion. · You’ll have access to our rota at all times, which gives you at least two months’ notice of your shifts and we like to make sure that your days off aren’t scattered! Your shifts will either be 08.00-20.00 day shifts OR a sleep-in shift that starts at 9am and ends at 9.15am the following day. · Able to use technology to update support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues. · You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
