A breakthrough can seem like the smallest thing, but it can make the world of difference to someone on the autism spectrum. By becoming a support worker at The National Autistic Society you’ll help make Everyday Breakthroughs happen more often.
We are looking for full time/part time support workers for a small supported living service in the heart of Northampton which caters for adults on the Autistic spectrum. The people we support within these service have a wide range of needs and abilities and require different levels of support. The homes are in the heart of the community near to local amenities. It is key to develop the community presence and support the people we support to build good community links. Staff will be expected to work in a flexible way to meet the needs of the people we support which will include weekends, evenings, unsociable hours and sleep ins. Staff will need to have good communication skills and be able to encourage and promote the people we support to be as independent as they possibly can.
Being a support worker takes bravery, patience and commitment. But working with autistic people gives so much more in return.

Your working pattern will be varied over a seven day rota and could include sleep-ins and bank holidays.
