Support Worker opportunity in Whitegate, Crewe for 42 hours/week - waking nights
The role
Gray Healthcare has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Support Worker to join their team in Whitegate, supporting a gentleman in his 50’s with Autism, LD and Aspiration Pneumonia.
The person supported has a great sense of humour. He is a very sociable man and likes to talk to everyone. He is very well groomed and smart, loves going clothes shopping and likes a McDonalds drives through breakfast.
He especially enjoys trips out in the car to visit family, going for walks and watching Home Under The Hammer!
The support is provided in a 2 bedroom property and the team is 2-to-1 days, 2-to-1 nights, 1 waking / 1 sleep.
This is a permanent vacancy contracted to 42 hours @ £10.70 per hour.
Comprising 3 x 12 hour night shifts, 8am to 8pm / 4 x 12 hour night shifts, 8am to 8pm – rolling weekly.
The candidate
We are looking for experienced Support Workers for this team who have a manual driving license ideally to drive the mobility vehicle, although will consider applicants who don’t.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience as a Support Worker within Autism, Learning Disabilities, ADHD, Mental Health and challenging behaviour.
You will have an interest, motivation and enthusiasm to develop experience and skills to work with people with complex needs. Ideally you will have at least Level 3 in Health and Social Care or a willingness to work towards the qualification within Gray Healthcare.
You will be able to manage difficult situations calmly and work within agreed evidence based PBS plans. You be able to complete good quality support records, detailing the activities of daily living. You will need to be resilient, emotionally, and physically fit to do this role.
