Support Workers (weekends part time /bank)
Experienced Support Workers Required
Up to 15 hours per week. Ad hoc/bank hours also available
Village location a short driving distance away from Shepton Mallet, Wells and Bath.
I am 13 years old. I have a brain injury, Autism, ADHD and a visual impairment. I live with my mum and younger brother, in Chillcompton. My mum and I are looking for someone to join my friendly and proactive support team.
I need help with personal care, social communication, attending appointments, accessing activities, doing my therapy exercises at home, accessing the community, planning and managing day to day activities and being encouraged and motivated. I sometimes need support with my emotional regulation.
My team includes my mum, my case manager, my support workers, my occupational therapist, my physiotherapist, and my clinical psychologist. My team work together to help develop my skills and independence. My team will provide you with statutory and bespoke training. They will ask you for feedback on what helps me when you are supporting me. You will be part of my team.
I love gaming on my Nintendo Switch, playing in the garden on my trampoline and trike, watching Dr Who and Star Wars, listening to music, country walks, swimming and being with friends. I don’t always like doing my therapy, going to busy places, dealing with children I don’t know. I need help to manage these activities from someone with lots of energy. Good motivational skills are essential! So too is fitting in with my family’s life.
Hours of Work:
Rotas are mutually agreed in advance, with my Mum. Flexibility with working hours is very helpful.
Extra hours are available during my school holidays and there is also the opportunity to support me overnight occasionally with sleep in shifts.
Holiday pay is provided on a pro rata basis.
Rates of Pay:
Monday to Friday: £15.00 per hour
Weekends: £16.00 per hour
Sleeping Night shift: £10.42 per hour (8 hours)
This position requires a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS.
