Job description – Live in Support Worker

We have an exciting opportunity for a Live in Support workers to join our Birmingham team. As a live-in-support worker, you will work with the management team to effectively run our Supported Accommodation for Young People.

About the company

HebolSupport is dedicated to helping young people transition into adulthood and live independently. We offer specialist supported accommodation and outreach support to help young people and people with mental health illness gain skills, confidence and plan for a successful future.

Our experienced support workers utilise simplified Support Plans to help our clients focus on their strengths, abilities and dreams and as such the support hours may vary as per each young person’s needs.

About the Role

The role is designed to deliver high-quality service to young people and stakeholders at all time. This is achieved through, but not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Writing and implementing Support Plans and Risk Assessments.
  • Safeguarding young people
  • Carrying out practical tasks with young people including key-working and generally taking an active part in their daily lives.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with young people and their families.
  • Engaging with local agencies and communities as necessary.
  • Organising and coordinating young people’s activities & appointments within set timeframes.

You may be required to take on other responsibilities as the needs of this growing business change.

About the Ideal Candidate.

The role requires a holder of at least an NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People, Health and Social Care or equivalent (or prepared to train for the qualification within 18months). The ideal candidate must be a proactive individual who can take initiative and possesses the following attributes;

  • At least 12 months’ experience working with young people or similar experience in the mental health field.
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • positive behaviour management including the ability to manage and deescalate challenging behaviours
  • Be required to provide enhanced disclosure and satisfactory references
