Job description
We are looking for a Support Worker to join our Service based in the Lichfield area on either a part time or full time (37.5 hours a week) basis.
The service itself is in Fradley on the outskirts of Lichfield. If you are using public transport, once you are in Lichfield, bus 12E will take you to Fradley and you will need to get off at William avenue. The bus station is opposite the train station in the city centre.
Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings and sleep ins, weekends and bank holidays. The general shift patterns include but are not limited to 7:00am – 2pm, 8:00am - 3pm and 2pm – 10.00pm. Please note these shift patterns may differ slightly throughout the services, nevertheless this would always be communicated in a timely manner.
What does a Support Worker do?
As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include:
Personal care – Helping people to get ready for the day and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom. Administering medications - Helping out with house work, organising appointment’s and cooking delicious healthy meals.
Excellent communication skills - An ability to be able to adapt your manner in how you speak to make the information understood by all of the people that you will be supporting. T
The people you will be supporting all have different hobbies and interests and the right person for this role will hopefully enjoy trying new things and going out into the community… whether it be a morning down at the local pond fishing, a shopping trip into town or a mini break away for a few days… no two days are ever the same!
