Job description
Full and Part Time Hours available (guaranteed and contracted)
Please note that due to the specific nature of the work required for this position, it is an occupational requirement for the Support Worker to be female and this requirement is a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim, in accordance with Schedule 9, paragraph 1 Equality Act 2010.
You will be paid £12.15 an hour when supporting “S” and "M", and £12.75 an hour when supporting “G”
You First is a forward thinking, innovative and market leading Social Enterprise, that enables autistic people, people with learning disabilities and/or mental health illness to build and grow their lives in a way that is both meaningful and purposeful for them. This is achieved by creating small, bespoke, dedicated teams of people who work to enable the person to fulfil their goals, hopes, dreams and aspirations. We call these bespoke teams Micro-Teams.
“S” and “G” are looking for people to join their Micro-Teams
“S” is an older lady with a learning disability who lives independently in her own home in Yeovil. “S” experiences high levels of anxiety and she can express this through language that some may find offensive. You will be supporting “S” with her own personal care, with shopping, and in keeping her home clean, safe, and tidy.
“G” is a young man who lives in his own flat in Chard. He has a diagnosis of autism and mental health illness and is apt to neglect himself and his flat, and this can present challenges at times. It is important to “G” that he is supported by people who live outside of his own town. “G” loves music and animals and enjoys chatting about his interests.
