Empowered Living Ltd is a new growing provider working across Harrogate to support adults with mild learning disabilities and/or autism. We understand that by taking care of our staff we can provide the best support to those in our care.

*What will this role involve?*

* Using emotional intelligence to work with the individuals you are supporting to empower them to make their own individual life choices and decisions

* Working with individuals using social and physical activities to enable the person to be the best version of themselves.

* Using positive behavioural support approaches to enable you to provide person-centred care.

* Following a detailed care plan wholeheartedly, as structure is very important for the individuals you will be supporting.

* You will receive regular sessions to discuss how you are feeling, how you are getting on working with the individuals you are supporting and how to evolve your skill base further in your role.

* You will be working in a risk assessed environment that is safe and supportive at all times.

*What are the requirements for this role?*

* You will have previous understanding and knowledge of working with individuals with a developmental condition and a learning disability.

* You will be proactive and focused on the key aspects of outcomes/person led care and support, and implement this into your role.

* You will have second-to-none communication skills and have the ability to be able to pick up on subtle signs and changes within a person's behaviour.

We opened a new service with 3 young adults moving into a Supported Living accommodation. Each person has their own interests and hobbies that staff will be there to support with and empower these individual's to live a meaningful and fulfilling life.

This will be a rewarding and exciting role within the care sector, to assist these individuals learn new skills and take the next steps in their lives. One individual volunteers for Oxfam and has support with this, another enjoys accessing the community to go shopping and doing crafts. The third person has a dog that lives at the home and enjoys taking him on daily walks with a support worker in and around Harrogate.

This role requires staff that like to be busy and are active as we many of the people we support enjoy being outside, walking and going on trips.

Hourly rate is between £10.50 - £11.50 depending on experience, qualifications and responsibilities. Empowered Living also offer a variety of staff benefits. We are looking for hard working compassionate full time staff.
