We specialise in supporting people with complex learning disabilities or mental health needs. The Support worker will be required to be aware of the service users needs and overall well-being.
Spencer & Arlington are looking for motivated, enthusiastic support workers, who are passionate about caring, but also see the scope for career progression.
Responsibilities of Job:
- To support clients in their own homes and in the community through a personal centered approach.
- To provide flexible and supportive services to maximise service user’s independence.
- To support service users to take control of their lives, to maximise inclusion and participation in the community according to their needs wishes and preferences.
Full training is provided
A full-time employee will be entitled to 28 days holiday

Job Roles
- Get to know and develop a relationship with the service users they support, especially if they are working as key worker
- Be able to meet individual needs with particular attention to gender, age, cultural background and personal interests
- Be aware of their own knowledge and skill limitations and know when it is appropriate to involve someone else with more specific experience.
- Ensure that service users are well protected and have their needs met by staff with the appropriate experience and skills.
Requirements of the Job
A good understanding of the needs of young Adults and adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health. Experience of managing challenging behavior and complex needs will be required.
Ability to work in partnership with Services users, colleagues, support services, families and stakeholders
Good written and verbal communication skills.
It is expected that you will work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, sleep-in and waking night shifts, to meet the needs of the service.
