Children and Young People Services are investing in their workforce and creating 5 new Support Worker posts across their statutory teams. Successful candidates will be matched to teams according to their skills and experience and areas of interest.

About the role
Pay Details: Grade 5, SCP 8 – 12, £22,777 – £24,496 per annum
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 hours
Monday – Thursday 8.30 – 5.00
Friday 8.30 – 4.30
These roles require individuals to work flexibly, including out of hours as required.
Main Place of Work: You will have access to office space in Barry and work across the Vale of Glamorgan, including the opportunity to work from home according to the needs of the service.
Description:
As a Support Worker, you will support children, young people and their families/carers, in line with the relevant legislation, guidance, regulations and national standards. You will work independently, and as part of a multi-agency team, undertaking direct work with children, young people and families to enable them to achieve the outcomes they want to and that meet their needs.
About you
You will need:
- Experience of working directly with children, young people and their families / carers.
- Experience of making and sustaining relationships.
- Awareness of the Children Act 1989 and the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014.
- Awareness of safeguarding procedures.
