Together Stronger is a children’s residential provider in Swansea, this is an exciting time to join a new and growing organisation who will provide high quality services to young people.

As an organisation we are fully aware that the this is a demanding role and staff require constant professional support, working closely with our Psychology Team staff will be given the training, supervision and tools to carry out their roles effectively.

About the role

You will be working within our first home located in Swansea. You will be part of a team who provide care and support to up to 5 children and young people (per shift) aged between 8 years and 18 years, all of whom may have complex needs, learning disabilities or behaviours that may challenge.

In this rewarding role you will be responsible for ensuring a high level of care and support for young people. You will be part of the residential staff team and assist young people to develop skills and have fun throughout the day. This role will require you to supervise young people and make recordings, support them to attend education and appointments as well as writing reports and attending meetings. You will also be required to carry out some domestic duties within the home.

Ideally you will have previous experience in childcare and have demonstrable life and / or work experience of vulnerable children with challenging behaviour or complex physical and emotional needs.

In return you will be supported to undertake a QCF (Qualifications credit frame work) Diploma for children and young people’s workforce and other opportunities to gain skills and qualifications to support your professional development, You should possess sound knowledge and understanding of child and adolescent development. However, it will be your passion to make a real difference that will be critical to your success in this role.

If you are successful in your application for this role you will be required to work on a rota, covering 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
