We are looking for an Allied Health Professional (AHP) or AHP Support Worker to contribute to projects to support the recruitment and retention of AHP Support Workers in SW London. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with support workers and partners across the SW London Integrated Care System.

As a core member of the AHP Faculty, you will work with the SWL AHP Support Worker Lead to develop a range of activities to improve the education and working patterns of AHP support workers that offer more rewarding career pathways. You will be supported to raise the profile of Support Workers by representing them at meetings and networks.

Ideally you will have worked as an AHP Support Worker in health or social care and have experience in leading small scale service improvements service developments or quality improvement projects. You will be fully supported by the Support Worker Lead and Faculty Lead. This is a development role and you will be encouraged to take advantage of the learning opportunities this post presents.

This is a 12 month post hosted by the Royal Marsden Hospital but you will work with organisations across SW London. This can be a secondment opportunity. This is a home-based role. It will involve remote working via Teams, regular meetings at the Sutton site of Royal Marsden Hospital and occasional travel to organisations across SW London.

The post holder will work with the SWL AHP SW Lead, the project manager, and other SW colleagues across SWL to lead the establishment of a SWL AHP SW Network, and support the delivery of an education and training framework for all AHP SWL SWs.

The AHP SW Officer will be responsible for tracking and reporting in terms of SWs training, development and career progression across SWL. The post holder will lead the co-ordination of regular SWs projects and regular meetings.

This role will require regular working at the Sutton site and occasional travel to organisations across south west London (SWL).

This is a secondment for 1 year and you will require support from your manager. The post is hosted by the Royal Marsden Hospital but you will work with SWs across SW London.

  • Support projects and programmes that improve patient care and outcomes
  • To lead the development and implementation of a SWL SW Network for regular engagement with all SWs working in SWL NHS organistations
  • You will be responsible for the production of written and verbal update reports as required, along with assisting in the production of performance reports and presentations as required.
  • Maintain the central tracking system to system to enable the Project Manager to report progress to the Accountable Executive and/or Operational Lead on a regular basis.
  • Check that all project documentation is completed to required standards and in a timely manner.
  • You will liaise with the Network team to discuss the progress, issues, risks and interdependencies.
