Job description

RSL is a supported housing provider for nine local authority care leavers between the ages of sixteen and eighteen. We are looking for one part time 'Support and Development Worker' with a passion for enabling, developing and promoting independence.

It is essential that the applicant holds a minimum of an NVQ level 3 in Children and Young People or Health and Social Care or is wiling to work towards this, this will be funded by the Company. The applicant must have previous or similar experience supporting people within this setting.

Applicants must possess robust, resilient and reliable characteristics. Applicants must be highly motivated, able to follow direction whilst using initiative and be enthusiastic with a good level of flexibility and have the ability to cope with and remain calm in challenging and demanding situations. Excellent communication, organisational skills and report writing skills are essential. Previous experience of lone working is also essential.

The rate of pay for a Support and Development Worker is £10.50 to £11.00 per hour this is dependant on qualifications and experience.

This post is permanent, subject to successfully completing a six month probationary period.

Salary: £10.50 - £11.00 per hour

Please do not apply if cannot complete the following shift patterns. Please note that it is essential that candidates are able to commit to at least two consecutive sleep-in shifts from Thursday to Monday either weekly or every other weekend.

Shift patterns can be the following and would alternate weekly:

Thursday 10am to Saturday 12pm (Midday) or:

Saturday 11am to Monday 12pm (Midday)

or alternatively fortnightly:

Thursday 10am to Monday 12pm (Midday) - This will be followed by 9 days off.

Sleep in allowance is paid.

Our organisation does not offer Visa sponsorship.
