The Role


We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Support worker in Bedford.

Clarence House in Bedford is our second homeless hostel. This purpose-built hostel has 29 self-contained studio apartments with a team of support staff available 24/7, including specialist support officers to assist residents with a range of complex needs.

Salary: £23,303.00 per year

Hours: 37.5 hours per week on a rolling rota, early & late shifts. Weekends are included in the rolling rota.

Location: Bedford (MK42 0AH)

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Key work sessions
  • Working with and supporting a range of customers with various complex needs including mental health, homelessness, substance misuse
  • Support to develop the necessary skills to live independently, and to access training, education, and work
  • Assisting with Tenancy support

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess genuine passion of making a real difference in people’s lives.
  • Have experience and knowledge of safeguarding legislation including ability to recognize safeguarding issues.
  • Have knowledge of the Housing Sector and One Housing Group’s activities.
  • Have experience working within a similar support worker role
