Support Worker Fostering

We have a fantastic opportunity for a child’s support worker to come and join our Ofsted Outstanding therapeutic foster care agency in Essex and Suffolk. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Support the children's needs and development
- To work under and comply with the Fostering Regulation 2011 and the National Minimum Standards.
- To participate in weekly assessment meetings with the team around the child
- To respect confidentiality and the rights to privacy of foster children unless needing to report potential safeguarding matters.
- To log recordings of any work undertaken on the company eCare database within 48 hours of work being completed (and to not store recordings in any other locations).
- Be available to work flexible hours including evening and weekends.
- If safeguarding matters are raised, these are to be reported immediately to one of the Designated Safeguarding Officers.
- Teach daily living skills such as budgeting, shopping, self-care, personal safety, and healthy life choices, while developing children’s confidence, self-esteem, and social skills.
- Spend time with the young person out of the placement taking part in an agreed activity or supporting them in group events.
- Develop a trusting, safe, consistent, and dependable relationship with foster children.
- Attend professional and statutory meetings as requested by children’s supervising social workers.
- Liaise with the foster parents where appropriate.
- Adhere to agency policies, procedures, and practice guidance.
- Share and report on any feedback received from foster children.

- Child care/Youth work - Essential
- Drivers Licence -Essential
- Group work – Desirable
Knowledge
- Children Act 1989 and subsequent amendments - Essential
- Child Development and Secure Base – Essential
- Therapeutic parenting - Desirable
- Knowledge of fostering regulations and national minimum standards – Essential
- Knowledge of agency mission, vision, and values - Essential
Experience
- 1 to 1 work with children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs – Essential
- Group work with children - Desirable
- Multi-agency/multi-disciplinary working – Desirable
Qualifications
- NVQ3 Health and Social Care – Desirable
- Childcare qualification or equivalent degree – Desirable
- Willingness to complete an above qualification if not met - Essential
Requirement
- Ability to travel as required, between foster parents and head office. – Essential
