What does a Support Worker do?
As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will enormously contribute to the people we support, living a more comfortable and happy life.
Our Service
We support 4 Gentleman who live in a 24 hour supported living service. Ages range between 46 –63.
There are a variety of activities enjoyed from arts and crafts, gardening, listening to music, theatres and overall enjoyment of the Gentleman’s hobbies and interests. All the people we support in this service enjoy going out and about into the community, whether that’s going for long walks, going out for lunches or even driving in an around York. As our Gentleman have their own vehicles, drivers are essential for this role. One of our Gentleman is a wheelchair user and loves to go on long walks so we are looking for someone who is physically fit to push him whilst enjoying the scenic routes.
At this service we support with the below;
Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.
Supporting people to live happy and fulfilling lives – budget management, paying bills, house work, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
Community & Social Inclusion - supporting people with a learning disability to access and participate in their local community and Social events to promote life skills and independence.
