Support Worker

Support Worker London, England

MacIntyre Charity
Full Time London, England 11.15 GBP HOURLY Today
Job description

Are you passionate about empowering others to live life on their own terms? Are you new to social care but willing to learn?

You'll join us as a Support Worker in Streatham, London which is home to eleven people aged between 45 - 65 with learning disabilities.

We have a lot of fun here! You will support a variety of activities out and about in the local community such as visiting shops, restaurants, the cinema, church and leisure centre. A few of us also attend daily events and activities at local centres around the borough. Back at home, people tend to spend time gardening, cooking, baking, arts and crafts and having fun themed nights.

Most of the people you support will require some assistance with personal care and eating and drinking. You will also be fully trained in manual handling, as some people use wheelchairs.

Shifts are worked on a rota basis which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins. Full-time hours are 37.5 hours per week, but we can also offer part-time and relief hours to fit around other commitments.

About you

Experience isn’t always necessary. If you have the right attitude, good customer service skills, share our values and are willing to learn, you’re likely to be a great fit.
