We are a small national charity with 2 projects in Wolverhampton, West Midlands. We are customer-led, supportive, rewarding, and our goal is to provide safe and secure supported accommodation to vulnerable women and children.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible support worker to join our small friendly team to support homeless women and children in hostel accommodation. The ideal candidate for this position is an individual who can think on her feet, has a strong understanding of community resources and can think about how to make things better for the people we support.
Responsibilities:
- Be attentive to the individual's physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being.
- Be respectful of and sensitive to cultural and spiritual differences.
- Be a team player and work well with others.
- Be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience to individuals.
- Have the ability to see the bigger picture.
- Demonstrate good judgement.
Main duties:
- Ensure safety of the building
- Support women and children that access our service
- Support planning
- Risk assessments
- Assist with life skills
- Signposting
- Benefits advice
- Support with forms etc
- Assessment for move on
- Support in finding accommodation in the community
Candidates must have a passion for working with women and a relevant NVQ level 2 qualification or similar and a background working in the care sector. Full in-house training will be given.
The post will be a mixture of shifts including days, evenings, nights (sleep on) and some weekends. This position's is for 30 hours per week plus extra when cover is needed. There is scope to have flexibility of hours worked for the right applicant
Flexibility is essential and the ability to cover shifts at short notice.
