If the answer above is yes, then we would like to hear from you. We are recruiting support workers. No prior experience needed as we'll be providing full training, coaching, and mentoring.

We’re Homes Plus Care Ltd (Progressive Mews), a care service in Colchester and
we provide a range of care and support services for our tenants, some of
whom have Learning Disabilities. Our main priority for this job role is to find people with the
right values, behaviours and attitudes that match our own! We’re seeking to
recruit some great new support workers; people with the right values and
behaviours to work in our care service – could this be you?

We provide support to adults with a learning disability (some tenants may have behaviours that challenge) within their own flats or shared accommodation to live as independently as possible and to live the lives that they choose.

Daily duties include but are not limited to:

Supporting tenants with leisure activities such as:

  • Arts and crafts, dancing, music, football, bowling and going to cinema.
  • Supporting tenants in leisure, education, and employment services inside and outside of the home.
  • Supporting tenants to make and attend any health or wellbeing appointments.
  • Supporting tenants as much as possible to undertake household chores, including planning and preparing meals.
  • Assisting tenants in maintaining their personal hygiene where necessary.
  • Support with food shopping, gardening, pottery.
  • Giving medication as required.
  • Supporting tenants with emotional needs when displaying behaviours that challenge.
  • Completing written reports and notes.
  • Providing physical, emotional, spiritual and social support to tenants.
  • Working closely with staff and tenants in promoting individual packages of care that reflect the person's chosen lifestyle.

Applicants must complete an enhanced DBS check and reference procedures. Applicants will be expected to disclose anything they may have recorded on DBS during interview procedure.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Bank available

Per hour: £11.00 - £13.00. Overtime rate of £2 available. Sleep ins available paid at £70.65.
